I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with John Thomas for more than ten years.

I am admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and am a partner in a leading international law firm. I am the co-head of that firm's Construction Group, which specialises in non- contentious construction work.      

I am a (retired) solicitor admitted by the Law Society of Scotland. Most of my professional career has been spent in the oil and gas industry having worked for US, Canadian, UK and Arab companies, most recently as in-country counsel to Hunt Oil Company in the Republic of Yemen. In the early 1990s I was Special Counsel to Kuwait National Petroleum Company (“KNPC”) where I spent some time working alongside John Thomas. After my departure from KNPC, John took over the entire role within the Legal Department.

John has enormous experience in drafting and negotiating of documentation for many high value PMC, EPC, EPCM and process technology projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams in negotiating claims and contentious issues arising in these projects and is well acquainted with dealings with international law firms in London, USA, Dubai, etc. It was a pleasure to work with John who at all times performed in a professional, competent and thoroughly reliable manner throughout the time I worked with him, sometimes in very challenging circumstances.
